There is a remarkable vocal resemblance between NPR’s Zoe Chace and Fred Savage, AKA Kevin Arnold from the Wonder Years. I point this out as a fan of their work, not to disrespect or for a cheap laugh. The interesting thing is that they are not from the same place, one from Chicago, the other from NYC. The vocal similarities are in tone and timbre. And while the accents are not alike, they are both pronounced – that is they are terrific examples of regional dialects. Here are two clips – best if you play them at the same time, to hear the voices merge.
